Service is not just what we do, but who we are. Solweya was founded in June 2020 after we realized that after many years of experience in the market, we would like to offer people a quality service. As the pandemic subsided, there was an increasing need and high demand for flexible engineers who could step into any project. So we decided to form Solweya with the goal of having a flexible, high-quality workforce available in a short time and also for a short time. With this, it would be possible to help pharmaceutical companies to reduce their interview and selection processes for new employees.
Founder
Steve Olweya was born and raised in Kenya, after finishing his initial studies his desire to be an engineer took him to Germany, where he graduated from Fernuniversität in Hagen with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Informatics.
The passion for engineering runs deep in his family, both his father and brother are mechanical engineers. Some of his earliest childhood memories are staying up late to see his father trying to fix various pieces of machinery he always brought home from work. That’s how Steve found a solution to any problem and where his desire to work as an engineer comes from.
During his time as a field engineer, Steve has been able to travel for work (CQV) to over 40 different pharmaceutical companies around the world. Where he could experience first hand the different methods of operation, corporate cultures, and quality standards, which allowed him to acquire a deep understanding of the industry. He has worked in a wide range of areas, from aseptic production to biotechnology. Today, the Engineer founded Solweya and works providing commissioning, qualification and validation, in Switzerland, and now, also in Brazil and Kenya.
